Africa Youth Convention on AfCFTA

  • by

🌍 Last week, I had the pleasure of participating as a delegate at the Africa Youth Convention on AfCFTA, Peace, and Security where we explored the powerful relationship between economic empowerment, illicit trade, and sustainable peace in Africa.

Our discussions centered on harnessing the potential of African youth in trade to build a future grounded in security and prosperity.
One key takeaway was the urgency of closing the digital skills gap among African youth, equipping them with the tools for future job markets, particularly in AI and green technologies.
This is not just about jobs, it’s about preparing a generation to drive sustainable development.

Honoring Mahatma Gandhi’s legacy through the Ahinsa Lecture, we were reminded that non-violence is essential to building a peaceful and resilient Africa.
It was a remarkable experience to work alongside other young leaders to formulate actionable policies that address our continent’s pressing challenges around economic growth, youth empowerment, and the AfCFTA framework.
Together, we are paving the way for a united Africa where peace and development go hand in hand. 💡💼🌱
