Joseph Okia is a Legal Advisor at the Emolot Foundation, where he provides expert legal counsel in various areas, including corporate and commercial law, NGO regulations, employment and labor relations, company law, immigration, and intellectual property. As a qualified Advocate of the High Court of Uganda, Joseph plays a critical role in ensuring the Foundation’s compliance with regulatory requirements set forth by the National Bureau of NGOs, the Uganda Registration Services Bureau, and other government ministries, departments, and agencies. Joseph has a background in youth-led organizations and has previously supported a youth-think tank research project on agri-business, implemented by Restless Development Uganda in partnership with the MasterCard Foundation across Eastern and Central Africa. He has also participated in the International Citizenship Service (ICS) and the Dance4Life Projects, which focus on Youth Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights. His expertise in legal advisory, litigation, and youth service helps safeguard the Foundation’s operations and supports its mission to drive positive social impact.
